History – The making of a great brand!
In 1979, Unilever purchases the Dutch Noodle Company and created the Lipton Sides brand. The first products --Chicken Noodle and Beef Noodle side dishes -- were launched in 1980 creating the dry packaged side dish category. These were instant successes due to their great taste and convenience, taking only minutes to make!
In the mid-1980s Lipton Sides rice dishes were launched. Their popularity was immediately evident. It seemed that America was ready to expand its taste horizons. Since then we have responded with an exciting variety of Lipton Sides tastes and flavors, making everyday meals different and inspirational night after night.
