Brand marks milestone with birthday party in New York City, recipes from celebrity chef Curtis Stone and new Ice Cream Cake variety

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, NJ, (June 22, 2016) - Breyers, the oldest nationally available ice cream brand in the United States and maker of America's No. 1 vanilla ice cream, is celebrating its 150th birthday this year.

This is a milestone that few brands have reached and Breyers is celebrating with a birthday bash in Madison Square Park today,Wednesday, June 22. Additionally, the brand has introduced a new variety, Breyers Ice Cream Cake, as well as partnered with celebrity chef Curtis Stone and his wife, actress Lindsay Price Stone, to create recipes that bring families together in the kitchen and celebrate moments with Breyers all year long.

150th birthday party

Today, families are invited to celebrate the brand's 150th birthday in Madison Square Park (located at 23rd to 26th Streets between Fifth and Madison Avenues). Between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., families will have the opportunity to walk through a discovery tour in a life-size Breyers carton and learn about the brand's history, as well as indulge in free (while supplies last) Breyers ice cream – made with fresh cream, sugar and milk for 150 years.

Grammy Award winning singer / songwriter and actress Kelly Rowland, GIRLS star Allison Williams and star of Jane the Virgin and Broadway's Chicago, Jaime Camil, will join the festivities at 12:30 p.m.

"We are thrilled to celebrate 150 years of Breyers with families in Madison Square Park today," said Nick Soukas, director of ice cream at Unilever. "We're extremely proud of our heritage, which started with William A. Breyer hand-cranking his first gallon of ice cream at his home in 1866. While we have come a long way since then, one thing has remained the same – our commitment to use high-quality ingredients, like milk and cream from cows not treated with artificial growth hormones* and sustainably farmed vanilla beans."

Partnership with Curtis Stone and Lindsay Price Stone

The party doesn't end there! Breyers has also partnered with award-winning celebrity chef Curtis Stone and his wife, actress Lindsay Price Stone, to create 12 recipes using Breyers Natural Vanilla, inspired by seasonal ingredients for every month of the year.

From January's recipe featuring Fortune Cookies and Natural Vanilla Ice Cream with Mandarins and Oranges to December's Spicy Hot Chocolate Floats, families have a way to celebrate with Breyers all year long. All of Curtis and Lindsay's 12 recipes featuring Breyers Natural Vanilla can be found on Breyers.com.

New Breyers Ice Cream Cake Variety

To bring the party to freezers across the country, Breyers has launched a new variety, Breyers Ice Cream Cake. The new flavor features Breyers Chocolate Ice Cream and loads of chocolatey crunchies, sandwiched between Breyers Natural Vanilla Ice Cream.
