JEFFERSON CITY, MO (July 1, 2025) - Today, Unilever USA marked a major milestone for its Jefferson City facility as it celebrates the production of Liquid I.V., a brand within Unilever’s Wellbeing business.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on July 1, 2025, at the facility to mark this important milestone. Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe, local officials, and employees gathered to celebrate the launch of the new production line, a symbol of Unilever’s brand growth and long-term, local investment.

“Today is about more than a production line – it’s about supporting the growth of Liquid I.V. and celebrating the people here in Jefferson City who are making that possible,” said Mike Whelan, Head of Unilever’s Jefferson City facility. “We’re proud to bring this work in-house and even prouder to do it right here in Missouri.”

Unilever acquired Liquid I.V. in October 2020 as part of its fast-growing Wellbeing portfolio. Liquid I.V. has grown more than four times larger since acquisition and has helped the Wellbeing business deliver strong double-digit growth in FY 2024.

Liquid I.V. is a science-backed functional hydration company that has become the number one powdered hydration brand in America[a]. Its products feature LIV HYDRASCIENCE®, a science-backed formula designed with an optimized ratio of electrolytes, essential vitamins, and clinically tested nutrients to turn ordinary water into extraordinary hydration.

Unilever’s Jefferson City location, which has been in operation since 1966 and employs more than 450 workers, is the first Unilever facility in the U.S. to manufacture products for the Unilever Wellbeing portfolio. The Jefferson City factory is part of Unilever’s U.S. supply-chain network, which includes 10 factories and six distribution centers.
