Unilever rises to #39 among world's most admired companies

Rising from No. 50 in 2012, with high scores in social responsibility and global competitiveness

Unilever has risen to No. 39 (from No. 50 in 2012) among the Top 50 World’s Most Admired Companies, while most peers / competitors have fallen in ranking. Additionally, Unilever has climbed to a No. 2 standing among the Most Admired Companies in the Consumer Food Products industry (up from No. 3 in 2012).

The Most Admired list is the definitive report card on corporate reputations. Since 1997, Hay Group has partnered with Fortune magazine to identify and rank the World's Most Admired Companies. To arrive at the top 50 overall, the Hay Group asked 3,800 executives, directors, and securities analysts who had responded to the industry surveys to select the 10 companies they admired most. They chose from a list made up of the companies that ranked in the top 25% in last year's surveys, plus those that finished in the top 20% of their industry.

Based on more than a decade and a half of data, this study provides powerful insight into the essence of business success, including these nine attributes:
