Meet our Unilever Nutrition & Health team of nutrition scientists who work across our Nutrition and Ice Cream and Foodservice Business.

Joy Dubost

Joy Dubost, PhD, RDN

Head of Nutrition and Health, North America at Unilever. Dr. Dubost is engaged with setting the short and long-term nutrition strategic direction for all Nutrition and Ice Cream categories and brands in North America, ensuring alignment with the global nutrition agenda. She is responsible for leveraging public and private sector partners, engaging with key Federal agencies, and leading outreach to key opinion formers to ultimately improve nutrition and public health in North America.

Prior to joining Unilever, she served as the Senior Director of Science and External Affairs at the Beer Institute where she was the primary scientist providing expertise on scientific evidence and communications as it relates to moderate alcohol consumption. Prior to this role, she served as the Senior Director of Nutrition at the National Restaurant Association where she provided leadership and expertise on a wide spectrum of food science and nutrition issues related to the restaurant and foodservice industry. In this role, she led the development and implementation of the award winning, nationally recognized children’s dining program called Kids LiveWell.

Dr. Dubost was also previously employed as a Principle Scientist at PepsiCo Incorporated, where her focus was in product development and nutrition communications. She received a Ph.D. in food science from the Pennsylvania State University, a M.S. degree in food science at University of Georgia, and a B.S. in Nutrition and Chemistry at Hood College. Dr. Dubost is a Registered Dietitian and completed her dietetic internship at the University of Michigan Hospitals.

Gina Ruskie Askew, RDN

Gina Ruskie Askew is a Senior Nutritionist with more than a decade of food & nutrition communication and marketing expertise at Unilever. Over the years through her various roles at Unilever, she has supported a wide variety of iconic brands such as Lipton Ready to Drink, Knorr, Hellmann’s, Growing Roots, Sir Kensington’s, Maille, Country Crock, I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter, Breyers, Sim-Fast, Skippy, Wishbone, Ragu, Bertolli and PF Chang’s Home Menu.

She is responsible for developing and executing Nutrition & Health related programs that encourage simple, yet delicious and nutritious options as part of a balanced diet. This includes supporting product renovation and innovations, recipe development and brand communications online and in retail in addition to leading healthcare professional outreach.

Prior to Unilever, Gina has worked in a variety of settings such as foodservice management, inpatient and outpatient nutrition counseling in several hospitals. She completed the Coordinated Program in Dietetics and graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Connecticut.

Stefanie Weaver, MS, RDN

Stefanie Weaver has been a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist for 15 years with vast experience in clinical nutrition and the food industry. Stefanie joined Unilever 7 years ago as a Senior Nutritionist supporting our beverage and ice cream brands as well as the Unilever Food Solutions business. Stefanie works alongside cross functional teams to provide nutrition expertise into product innovation and renovation, scientific claims support and risk management, recipe creation, brand communication and health influencer programming.

Through her clinical nutrition experience in weight management, she developed a particular interest in behavioral change and how making small, personalized changes over time can help people have a better quality of life. She takes this mindset to help improve the nutritional profile of our products and communicate how our products fit into healthy, balanced diets.

Stefanie graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science and Dietetics and completed her dietetic training there as well. Stefanie received a Masters of Science in Food and Nutrition from Montclair State University in Montclair, New Jersey. She is also certified in Adult Weight Management through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
