BlogHer and Country Crock® announce a new community hub: BlogHerMoms.com
Former Redbook editor-in-chief and author, Stacy Morrison, will be editor for the new content section.
Belmont, CA (September 1, 2011) – Today BlogHer, Inc., the premium cross-platform media network and publisher for women, launched BlogHerMoms, a new dedicated section of BlogHer.com, serving as the leading guide to what moms are thinking, saying and doing on the web.
The new destination will be sponsored by Country Crock®, supporting it as a community hub for moms online by moms online, to converse and share ideas about the triumphs and challenges of the journey that is motherhood.
“BlogHer has been at the forefront developing new publishing models and opportunities for all women whose voices make them leaders in social media and offline,” said Lisa Stone, Co-founder and CEO, BlogHer, Inc. “As BlogHer continues to develop networking and economic opportunities for the whole woman, where she can share advice, recommendations and insight about everything from stress to entrepreneurism, we think women need a dedicated space devoted to the journey of motherhood.
Our goal is to turn BlogHerMoms.com into a nerve center where the community of readers, watchers and media will be able to go and learn in a millisecond what matters to women who are parents.”
“We know the moms in the BlogHer community turn to and trust one another as sources of information and inspiration, particularly around instilling good habits in their children” said Christiane Paul, Senior Marketing Director, Spreads at Unilever, makers of Country Crock®. “Country Crock® is proud to sponsor BlogHerMoms as it is perfectly aligned with our campaign to help moms get their kids to want to eat their veggies, so as they grow older, they will choose to on their own."
BlogHer is also proud to welcome Stacey Morrison, former Redbook Magazine editor-in-chief and author of the memoir “Falling Apart in One Piece”, as the editor for BlogHerMoms. Ms. Morrison has 20 years of publishing experience, including 12 years in the digital/online space, and has been a longtime BlogHer community member.
"This is a thrilling conversation to join and shape, in the best women's community on the web,” says Stacey Morrison, section editor for BlogHerMoms. “Women bloggers have always lead the way with their funny, frank, honest and brave voices, and I'm so thrilled to work with BlogHer in a space dedicated to so much of what BlogHer has always stood for: self-discovery, community and helping women continually define and reach for their best vision of who they can be."
