Popsicle® hits the road to bring summertime fun to families
Iconic brand partners with lifestyle expert Brooke Peterson to launch Popsicle® Pop-up Party Tour
Englewood Cliffs, NJ (June 20, 2013) – This summer, Popsicle® will bring the fun and nostalgia of its iconic treats to families nationwide through a coast-to-coast Popsicle® Pop-up Party tour.
Starting this month, Popsicle® will launch Pop-up Parties in towns across the country, starting on the East Coast with Pittsburgh, Boston, and Buffalo, then traveling West to bring good times to Cleveland, Chicago, Minneapolis, and Kansas City, and finally, making its way to the West Coast with a culminating stop in San Francisco – the birthplace of the Popsicle® pop.
The Popsicle® Pop-up Party tour will stop at a variety of family-friendly venues along the way – from beaches, parks and sports events, to city landmarks and grocery stores. Families will be invited to join in on the fun and enjoy free samples of Popsicle® and Yosicle® pops, along with games and activities for the entire family, including a photo station with props and larger-than-life games.
Popsicle® is also giving consumers nationwide the chance to vote for the Popsicle® Pop-up Party to stop by their local area on the Popsicle® Facebook page at facebook.com/Popsicle beginning on June 20.
“Nothing tastes more like summer than the refreshing taste of a Popsicle® pop,” said Nick Soukas, brand building director for U.S. Unilever Ice Cream. “This summer’s Popsicle® Pop-up Party tour brings to life what the Popsicle® brand stands for – enjoying summertime fun with family and friends – to cities nationwide.”
Brooke Peterson, lifestyle expert and star of Yahoo! original series “Cheap N Easy,” is partnering with Popsicle® to help families extend the fun of Popsicle® Pop-up Parties to their own summer gatherings. Peterson will share simple tips and ideas for families to create their best summer parties – whether it’s a backyard barbeque, family reunion or neighborhood gathering.
"My mom always said, the days can be long but the years are short and with that, my philosophy is simple: celebrate every moment," says lifestyle expert, Brooke Peterson. "As a modern working mom, I am always looking for ways to turn the everyday into a FUN-day – and throwing a Popsicle® Pop-up Party this summer is an incredibly creative way to do just that!"
